This year RespublicaFEST will do several eco-projects as well as organize the refund of the tickets cost to all visitors who will take care of the environment and will bring their garbage after the camping to the collecting point.
Taking an example from the best European festivals, RespublicaFEST will become the flagship of the ecological movement in Ukraine. This year, the festival launches several pilot projects aimed at reducing the negative impact of mass events on the environment and reducing the amount of garbage at the festival.
Firstly, for the first time in Ukraine, the festival will launch the use deposit cups at foodcourts. That is, all people who will buy drinks at the festival will make a deposit for a glass made of hard plastic. If desired, it can be replenished with a lot of drinks at any bar. At the end of the festival, the glass can be returned to any bar, having received its deposit back. Thanks to such a project, the organizers of the festival are trying to reduce the amount of garbage and use of disposable plastic cups, which remains after the event and cause significant damage to the environment.
Secondly, all visitors who will stay in the camps will be able to return part of the money for the ticket to the festival. During the issue of festival bracelets, every resident of the campsite will also receive a garbage package. If the visitor, after the festival, returns it with his debris (and not leaves it lying on the ground in the campsite) to a special point of collection, he / she will receive part of the cost of the ticket back. In this way, each visitor will more closely follow what is left in the nature behind him.
In addition, this year, the RespublicaFEST actively invites its visitors on wheelchairs. For a long time, the entrance to the festival for such visitors was free. And this year, a free transfer for people with disabilities will be organized from the city centre. Besides that, special podiums will be built around the scenes, which will make the stay of these visitors at the festival comfortable and unforgetable.
All these initiatives are conducted by RespublicaFEST as part of its project implemented under the USAID/ENGAGE program, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact. The organizing committee of the festival is looking forward to the possibility of implementing its further ideas at one of the largest musical and street art events in Ukraine to become the “greenest” festival of not only Ukraine but also Europe.
RespublicaFEST will be held from August 31 to September 2, 2018 in Khmelnytsky. Tickets.
